Astrantia major 'Rose Symphony'  or Masterwort 'Rosensinfonie'

So well named!  A symphony of rose coloured blooms for at least 4 months of the year.  So very pretty and my garden would not exsist without the endless flowering producing Astrantias with flowers to pick.

Delightful to pick and even better ....  the flowers dry for winter arrangements.   Used as acommercial cut flower.

Producing masses of rose-pink pincushions on strong upright flower stems reaching 60 -80 cm in height, forming a lush 60cm wide clump of palmate, deeply lobed, mid-green leaves.

Ideal in partial shade, but they do well enough in the open as long as they are in a site that gets constant moisture in rich soil. A very hardy perennial. Very frost hardy.
