Japanese Spurge
This a wonderful lush evergreen perennial. The perfect ground-cover. I planted mine in an area that was too harsh to grow my roses. A concrete path on one side and a gravel driveway on another - in full sun and it has done a great job of filling and softening a very hard looking area. It is much better and more suitable to a slightly more shaded spot and is a perfect ideal filler for a bank/slope or between shrubs, in or out of the sun.
It grows approx. 15-20cm in height in a creeping habit. It has a spring-summer white flower, but this plant is more about it's lovely glossy foliage as it's most attractive feature. I like to pick the leaves for floral work, but mostly I pick a bunch of leaves and put them in a bowl and they resemble a lovely lush pot plant - lasting for weeks in water.
Extremely hardy.
Planting: Approx 4-6 plants per square metre.
