I personally call this Marie's Black because it came from a neighbour called Marie. Please note this is not its allocated botanical name - just my pet name.
The flowers are almost black; they are such a rich and deep wine in colour. The photos make them much lighter in colour than they actually are - who says the camera doesn't lie!
A must for every garden that has a shady patch with moist soil, where it just thrives beautifully.
The plant grows 30-45cm and has large, serrated, leathery leaves. In late winter, exquisite rose-like single blooms are produced. The flowers last for weeks, and the seed head is just as interesting.
A very hardy plant, easy to grow.
I only have a small number of these and no more crops after this one.
The maximum purchase is 5 plants per order.
They have been trimmed, and new growth is emerging. Perfect time to plant now.
