A dwarf variety. Reaches less than 30cm when in flower, the foliage approx. 20cm. Easily grown.
Loves slightly moist but well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Prefers rich humus soils. This Astilbe variety has better sun and drought tolerance than other Astilbes so is happy in the open as long as there is adequate moisture.
A groundcovering plant as it has a low growing spreading effect. I have a good clump happily at home under Walnut trees and Rhododendrons.
A pretty addition to the garden with the lavender-pink plumes. Flowers late summer - early autumn.
