Ashton Glen Nursery is a Mail
Order nursery specializing in hardy alpines and perennials.
All plants are grown outdoors
in Otago, in the southern belt of New Zealand. So they are inflicted with
irregular weather, snow, severe frosts, far too many polar blasts and periods of
hot dry weather. In other words - if they do not survive for me in my nursery
then I am not interested in growing and fussing with them. If they are not
attractive then they also end up in the compost bin too.

Shipping and processing charges for each order within New Zealand is $6.50. There
are no other hidden charges. No plant or seed orders are sent out of New Zealand
because of international bio-security laws. Niwashi Garden Tools however
can be exported.
Alpines
The plants I have listed here may not all be strictly Alpines by horticultural right. I have placed in this section all the plants that grow less than 30cm high and do well in my own Rock Garden - thus I deem them to be Alpines. |

Perennials
Perennials are plants that I describe as being the flowers that you plant between your trees and shrubs. The plants in this section grow between 25 - 120cm, and they are mostly winter dormant. |
